I couldn't agree with you more. My wife and I got our firsy credit card in the early 70s. It helped us out when we had family emergencies and didn't have the cash on hand to deal with it. I don't believe we ever missed a payment. About 15 years ago we started paying off our cards every month. Now we do almost all our purchasing on cards and pay them off every month. We've even found a card that pays us air miles without having to have a balance. So every year we get what amounts to one free plane fare to visit our grandchildren

"Saving was not sacrificing" This blog really hit home to me. I found this as being a great way to think of saving. You are certainly right about credit cards. I know I am smarter than to depend on them for a purchase and yet used to find myself pulling them out for something that I could not afford. Now I need to rid myself of the debit card and just set so much aside to live on per week. Thank you for the therapy session. I sure needed it!!!!
