Who Would I Be Without That Belief?

teleWho are we?

What are we capable of?

How much of what limits us is external? How much of our limits come from within?

Questions have power because they can send our minds in interesting directions questing for an answer.

Hard times, economic or otherwise, upset a lot of apple carts. Established ways of behaving often no longer serve us. Patterns and beliefs that have worked for us in the past no longer seem to yield the same results. New approaches, new behaviors, are called for. Often the ego rebels, saying “That is not me,” or “no way will that work.”

The question, “who would I be without that belief or behavior or thought,” frees us up to see the world in new, often more empowering ways.

Imagination can be key. Imagining ourselves differently is the first step to choosing differently, behaving differently.

Closing Quote:

“If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is compromise.” — Robert Fritz

    Hello Mr. Collier,
You were suggested as someone who might wish to support the first annual Gainesville Environmental Film and Arts Festival, which I’m co-directing with Shirley Lasseter of The Hippodrome. I found your blog while searching for contact info, and I’ve enjoyed reading your posts. I also took a look at Robert Collier’s writings, and I like his approach, especially since they were written nearly a century ago. I have understood that thought creates reality since childhood, and that’s the foundation of our film festival – we’re trying to manifest a dream that we believe will benefit our community in multiple ways. If you think you might be interested in helping us, I’d like the chance to tell you about it. My email is above; if you’d like to drop me a note, I’ll send you our brochure with more details and we can set a time to talk. Thank you for sharing your interesting thoughts here! I hope to hear from you. Many thanks, trish*
