If you truly expect things to change in your life, then you must be willing to change your life. To get what you’ve never had before, you must be willing to do what you’ve never done before. If you are not willing to change, how can you expect others to? If you cannot motivate yourself to change, to be a role model, an example, how can you motivate others?

I’m as fond of my routines as anyone, I’ve got my habits and my patterns. I tend to eat at the same restaurant every night, have lived in the same town for most of my life. Yet I know that to grow, to successfully cope with an evolving, transforming world, I’ve got to remain open to change.

One of my affirmations is, “Daily, do one thing boldly different.”

At times it is one of the more challenging affirmations to follow. However, I’ve noticed that even changing my routine in small ways, such as taking a different way home, reversing the order in which I do things, following an impulse, all these little bits of flexibility add up and help me to stay open.

How open to change are you? What ways have you changed in the last 30 days? 90 days? What are you willing to commit to changing in the next 30 days?

Change your thoughts, change your behavior, change your life.
